Spencer Itzkovics is a visual artist specializing in glass and print, as well as a pianist and composer, currently based in Seattle, WA, USA.
A pianist since the age of 5, Spencer developed his skills with a focus on solo classical works, as well as jazz and contemporary as the years have progressed. In high school, he developed an interest in orchestral composition and film scoring, and went on to achieve his Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition at New York University in 2013.
Following college, Spencer returned to the Pacific Northwest and started to develop an interest in glassblowing. By early 2017 he was able to take his first introductory classes at Seattle Glassblowing Studio. He immediately fell in love with this art - the material, the process, everything. He then went on to continue his education at Pratt Fine Arts Center, to further expand his glass art skill set.
His work tends to bounce back and forth, searching for a balance between highly-detailed pieces and virtuosic technique, and work that gains its emotional drive via simpler form and less technical composition.
